Veer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a great leader, was a political thinker, freedom fighter and a staunch Hinduist. He never hesitated in expressing clearly what he thought sincerely. He started dreaming of a free India right from the early days of his student life. Though he went to Great Britain for higher education, his strong desire to see India free brought him in contact with the revolutionaries. He was arrested for his revolutionary activities and brought to India as a prisoner. On the way to India, he jumped into the sea from the deck of his ship, which shows his indomitable will and abiding love for his country. He was awarded a severe punishment in India and deported to Andaman & Nicobar Islands, but the hellish tortures of the Andaman ( cellular) Jail) could not deviate him from his objective. India attained freedom, but it was partitioned. So, veer Savarkar consider it an incomplete freedom and continued to dream of a united India till the last days of his life.
