Young Jasbir accompanies his father Balwant Ahuja – a promising industrialist from Jalandhar having hosiery manufacturing and tea business, to East Africa to inspect a tea garden. They meet there the Patels – an immigrant Gujrati family from Kenya, and develop a strong bond, a friendship. Ahujas begin trading hosiery products and Indian made consumer goods to Africa.
