The Instinct To Heal

Heal is a powerful word. Isn’t it presumptuous for a physician to use such a word in the title of a book on stress, anxiety, and depression? I’ve thought a lot about this question. To me, “healing”means that patients are no longer suffering from the symptoms that they complained of when they first consulted, and that these symptoms do happens when we freat an infection with antibiotics. The ideas presented in this book are largely inspired by the works of physicians and researchers.
