‘When a jilted woman hits back’ is a novel about the man-woman relationship and the realistic and idealistic aspects thereof. Shiela, the protagonist is passing through the vicissitudes of life grappling with the unusal situations. She gets emotionally involved with her own Professor and being educated and determined, she decides to give birth to her out-of-wedlock baby. She feels that her role in perpetuating the human race should be accepted as such without any reservations and without making her disclose the name of the child’s father.

Dr. Rajinder Singh is an acclaimed author who has over two dozen books to his credit, original, edited and translated. He has written novels, short stories and a collection of poems in Punjabi, Hindi and English. He has also edited two magazines, ‘Print’ (English and Hindi quarterly) of New Delhi and ‘Khuskhabri,’ a Punjabi monthly of Jalandhar for about four years each. He also contributes articles to papers and journals in English and Punjabi. He has translated classics and works of eminent modern writers.
