Why I loved Pran and Chacha Chaudhary

Since I couldn’t find a blog or a newspost about how Pran affected us, the middle class kids while growing up:

  1. Chacha’s character had no super powers. This is the most important part. Yes, different and born with a super power would be awesome but that character had none of it. It was…an everyday person.
  2. No young dude. No sexy chicks. No super commando dhruv and his plagiarized antics.
  3. Characters had a lot of (get read with the pitchforks) Indian sensibilities. So a lot of pranams and ijjats, almost no cursing or nothing that sounded obscene or out of line. And it’s funny how kids lapped it up.
  4. Sabu/Jupiter made me curious about planets etc. And rocket the dog.
  5. Simple everyday story lines with no deux ex machina. On one hand certainly no jaadu tona, and on other no sci fi Bs as well.

Can’t believe I’m getting emotional about chacha freaking Chaudhary.
