How does it feel to cross the horizon, leaving behind the comfort of a familiar atmosphere, enter an unknown country and eventually make it home? In this collection of short stories, Home Across the Horizon, a range of writers, diverse in age, gender and background, experts and novices, present a snapshot of that collective immigrant journey; the joys and challenges of settling in a new country. Indian Literary & Art Society of Australia (ILASA) founded by Ms Rekha Rajvanshi, an award-winning writer, has provided a platform for writers from across Australia to share their stories. ILASA is dedicated to promoting the literature and arts of the subcontinent in Australia fostering meaningful cultural and literary exchange between the two countries. Ms Anu Shivaram is a published bilingual writer and translator. A keen enthusiast of languages and literature, she has collated the stories and edited this anthology. Anu is happy that ILASA is nurturing a diverse and vibrant literary community by providing a platform for emerging writers and reaching out to a wider readership.
