Kalki Purana

Kalki Purana is an ancient Hindu scripture that foretells the arrival of Lord Vishnu’s tenth and final avatar, Kalki. The Purana describes how Kalki will appear in the world during the final phase of Kaliyuga, a period marked by moral decay and chaos. His divine mission is to destroy evil forces, restore righteousness (dharma), and usher in a new era of truth and peace.

Kalki is the prophesied future incarnation of Vishnu, who is expected to appear at the end of the Kali Yuga to destroy evil, restore dharma (righteousness), and establish a new era, Satya Yuga.

Kalki is prophesied to appear at the end of the Kali Yuga, the current age in the cycle of Yugas, when dharma has significantly declined and adharma prevails.

The Kalki Purana holds significance as it offers a vision of future redemption and restoration of cosmic balance. It reinforces the belief in the cyclical nature of time and the divine promise of intervention to correct moral and spiritual decline.

Kalki’s role as a future saviour who restores righteousness shares similarities with prophetic figures in other religions who are believed to come at the end of times to restore order and justice, such as the Messiah in Christianity or the Mahdi in Islam

Kalki Purana describes Kaliyuga as an age of darkness where morality declines, greed and corruption dominate, and human values erode. As Kaliyuga reaches its peak, the world will be plagued by conflict, injustice, and widespread suffering. Kalki will descend to the Earth, defeat the evil forces causing this turmoil, and cleanse the world, thereby ending Kaliyuga and beginning a new era of purity and dharma.
