Lord Shiva PB

Lord Shiva is worshipped as the Supreme God, Mahadeva. Shiva means the auspicious one. He destructs the evil forces and brings auspiciousness. Lord Shiva is a mighty god who has unlimited power and energy. He has a third eye on his forehead that opens only to destroy the evil power. His body is covered with ashes of cremation grounds. He wears a tiger skin, a snake around his neck and a crescent moon in the hair. From his matted hair flows the river Ganges. He holds a trident and a drum. Nandi Bull is his mount or vehicle. It is believed that Lord Shiva resides on a higher peak of the Himalayas known as mount Kailash surrounded by his family members and attendants known as ganas. Goddess Parvati is his wife; and Ganesha & Kartikeya are his sons. Lord Shiva is known as Adipurush. It means that no one was born before him. No one knows about his beginning and the end. Those who worship Lord Shiva with dedication, get salvation very easily. So, let’s chant: Om Namah Shivaya (Salutation to Lord Shiva)!
