Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Biography In Hindi

Rabindranath Tagore was such a poet whose passion was to depict human emotions and sentiment as such. He was a poet who knew the pulse of humankind. He made us ever aware of life’s unending saga.

Since childhood he used to be immersed in the world of poetry and dreamt of the natural beauty outside the four walls of his house. He never acquired any training in the art of Painting.

In the 81 years of his life, he spent 68 years in literary work and created hundreds of verses.

In 1913, Rabindranath Tagore got the Nobel prize for literature for ‘Gitanjali’. The British Government gave him the title ‘Sir’, which he renounced in resentment to the ‘Jallianwala Bagh Massacre’.

He spreaded the cultural message of India world over and openly opposed colonialism, selfishness and narrow parochialism.

Rabindranath Tagore was a philanthropist and a natural lover. He established the Viswa Bharati University, the meeting point of world cultures. Also, setup ‘Sriniketan’- the corrective center for villages and its enhancement. His spiritual thought had the influence of Hindi literature of saintly poets. His simple poems are pervaded by Upanishadic thoughts. He was inspired from the great Hindi poet Kabir Das.

He was well aware of the contemporary philosophical, political and sociological trends of the day.

He considered helping others and serving the mankind were the real path of attaining God.
